Born in Jordan and raised in Switzerland is not often followed by the term "soul singer", but it seems the universe had other plans when they brought Rana Rains Into this world. Singing before she could talk, Rana developed a style reminiscent of the great female soul singers of sixties while adding just enough of her own flare to create a bridge between what was and what surely will be. Her rich sense of interpretive melody, coupled with her unique vocal coloring bring to mind the likes of Dusty Springfield and Candi Staton while her exclusively positive messaging is almost unparalleled. Recorded in her new hometown of Brussels, Belgium alongside Europe's finest musicians in Europe's finest studio (ICP) Rana kicks off her recording career with a completely live played debut. Live strings, live horns, live rhythm section and a host of renowned soloists (even Patti LaBelle's background singers showed up from Philadelphia) play a supporting role in this new soul revolution.
